Aromatherapy Hydrosols (Floral Waters) Mountain Rose Herbs

Flower waters also known as hydrosols, hydroflorates or distillates are products from the direct steam distillation of whole plant materials. Unlike their "essential oil added to water" counterparts, true steam distilled hydrosols contain all the beneficial components that whole plant materials have to offer, and are more true to their scent.

They are wonderful and inexpensive as a facial splash, as a deodorant, an air freshener, in the spa, for skin application, during massage, as a base in your body care recipes, and most may be used in culinary creations. They are moisturizing, fragrant, cooling and contain similar properties as essential oils but in much less concentration, which makes them a lovely alternative to those with sensitivities.

Mountain Rose Herbs has now expanded their entire line of hydrosols, which have all been distilled in improved stainless steel cookers and processed through certified organic methods.

Each of their 4 oz hydrosols is packaged in an amber bottle with a black mister. The bulk 8 oz, 16 oz ounce and 1 gallon waters are packaged in HDPE plastic bottles.

Chamomile hydrosol
Best known for its ability to calm and ease the overly anxious, this Chamomile hydrosol also has one of the most beautiful floral aromas. A great hydrosol for facial and body applications. Suitable for food and cosmetic use.

Clary Sage hydrosol
Primarily used as a medicinal quality hydrosol with a semi-unpleasant odor. Can be blended into some cosmetics, and body care formulations; however, it is recommended that you blend it with other aromas. A primary ally in balancing the menstrual cycle, and is being used for menopause. For cosmetic use only.

Cucumber hydrosol
Yum! This hydrosol smells so similar to the fresh fruit that you may have to refrain from eating it.A refreshing, cooling, crisp aroma that would be perfect as a summer body splash, or used within a scrumptious handmade lotion or aroma spray.Cucumbers are well known for their soothing, healing, and anti-inflammatory effects on the skin.This hydrosol is highly recommended, and is a wonderful natural alternative to the many synthetic cucumber fragrances available today. Helichrysum hydrosol
A deeply therapeutic and healing hydrosol with unrivaled skin toning benefits. Helichrysum hydrosol makes a lightly refreshing facial mist for mature and dry skin, with a mildly dry and "toasty" aroma. This is the best hydrosol we have experienced for those in search of a complete skin toning and healing experience.

Lavender hydrosol
This is one of the more relaxing and balancing hydrosols from our collection of flower waters. It is ideal for oily and combination skin, and is an excellent coolant for minor burns, rashes, and hot sores. Mentally refreshing and marvelous on the emotions! Suitable for food and cosmetic use.

Lemon Balm hydrosol
Best know for its calming effects on mental stress and fatigue, this lovely flower water is also beneficial for herpes, cold sores, eczema, and general skin irritations. Suitable for food and cosmetic use.

Lemon Verbena hydrosol
Revitalizing for all skin types and lightly stimulating and uplifting for those gloomy days. A great pick me up in a bottle, which also acts as a astringent and cleanser. Suitable for food and cosmetic use.

Lime hydrosol
A crisp and refreshing hydrosol distilled from whole organic Lime fruits. Lime hydrosol stimulates skin circulation and promotes pH balancing for alkaline skin types further tightening the outer epidermis. And it has been traditionally used for problems with oily skin and minor skin blemishes. Use it as a rejuvenating facial toner, aroma spray and it will blend wonderfully in cosmetic creations. Orange Flower hydrosol
Gentle, fresh, and oh so cooling. While commonly used for babies and children it is equally suitable for us grown ups and has aphrodisiac qualities. For cosmetic use only.

Peppermint hydrosol
Best known for its use as a revitalizing and refreshing body spray, this Peppermint hydrosol is well rounded and is strikingly robust. Just like fresh picked Peppermint wands! Ponderosa Pine hydrosol
Best known for its use as a revitalizing and refreshing body spray, this Ponderosa Pine hydrosol has a remarkably smooth aroma with a delicate floral hint. Can be used liberally on the body as a general cooler, in the kitchen as a natural aroma spray and it is particularly helpful for toning or "fixing" the skin.

Rose Geranium hydrosol
A fastastic hydrosol from the common flowering Rose Geranium. A stunning application for complex and combination skin types where restoring balance is quickly needed.
